Conformity
by barry inhttps://youtu.be/rkens1c7fsg many sda church members unions and conferences are having issues with their general conference which has set up five compliance committees to regulate church entities.
some of the areas the general conference are concerned about are the ordination of women and the general wants to stop more women from being ordained also their are issues with church doctrine homosexuality.
this video is in response to a fight back by a large majority of members 40% wanted womens ordination.

If religious people don't want anyone to tell them what to believe, just stop signing up for an organization with leaders. Just do your own way for the love of Mike.

Did anyone put off having children because of wt bs?
by I Faded Twice injust curious if anyone put off having kids because the end was so close.

There were other factors, ie: my niece being born with spinabifida and the fear of it happening to any child I might have, the ministry (pioneered a long time) and such. It certainly didn't help that God's anointed all but made it a taboo. Assholes.

So pleased your family is doing well. Of course they would have been sitting behind a literature cart full of glorified toilet paper if you hadn't figured out it was a scam. Good for you and your family. Sound's like a great trip. I loved to travel when I could.

A. H. Macmillan wrote the book entitled: "Faith On the March". Not a WT publication. He was first a Bible Student and then a JW. He was a close associate of Russell and a WT board member. Yep, he was a witness. Died in 1966.

Faders Needing a Great One Liner
by Solzhenitsyn inso our family fade is well under way.
we changed congregations as regular attenders and left in good standing with those giving hugs and kisses simply knowing we "needed a change".
we moved to a neighboring congregation that is out of our original region knowing we would see no one and the two boe's wouldn't really have immediate dealings.

Turn it on them. Ask, "Have you ever read anything in the literature that made you scratch your head and you really had to take time to think about? That's where I am and I am still working on it." If they say "no", then offer, "its something to think about then". Move on then to how happy and unstressed you are.

Do you remember when you realised it was all bulls£&t
by moley ini remember when my faith left me.
i used to enjoy meetings and used to participate but then all of a sudden i was finding myself bored shitless at meetings.
i was taken off the theocratic ministry school for not attending when i was due to give a talk and not long after did something naughty and got disfellowshiped.

When I realized that the identifying mark of "love among themselves" was not present and the faith was built on the wacky views of some heaven aspiring dimwits that wrote pseudo intellectual/scriptural books, the contents of which had expiration dates built into them.

Serious Problems Between Elders
by ZindagiNaMilegiDobaara inever encountered or eyewitnessed problems escalating, arguements and rows between elders right at the kh anyone?.
one such experience was just before the meeting was about to start,we heard raised voices from the second room between two elders.
a minute later two other elders went into the room and we could all hear that they were trying to cool the situation down with whatever was going on in there.

There had been a flood in our area and the local Ass Hall was the staging location for new carpet etc for the repairs being done on the brother's homes. Two elders were working against each other because they disagreed on how to accomplish something. They came to blows, fists were flying till the CO broke them up. Yep, a wet noodle thrashing is all they got.
